Medicover strives to increase healthcare funding, improve access to healthcare and early diagnosis, mutually supporting the World Bank’s Universal Health Coverage and UN SDG 3, Good health and wellbeing.
Medicover’s mission is to improve and sustain health and wellbeing. The scope of the work has three cornerstones:
- Aim to increase healthcare funding in the markets Medicover operates
This provides the resources to increase early diagnosis and preventative care. The total non-public healthcare spending channelled through Medicover in 2025 was EUR 1,874m. Medicover’s growth also liberates state healthcare funding to address the needs of other patients and other medical priorities. - Aim to improve access to healthcare
In 2025 Diagnostic Services provided care to 15,8 million people and Healthcare Services provided care to more than 14,4 million people. Medicover is continuing to expand its network to reach even more customers and patients in existing and new markets. - Aim to improve access to early diagnosis
Early diagnosis means that health conditions can be identified, treated and cured at an earlier stage. Laboratory tests are a major contributor to early diagnosis and are a component of more than 70 per cent of all medical decisions worldwide. In 2026 the number of blood-drawing points increased by 115 to a total of 1,046, increasing access to diagnostic testing. Further investments was made in expanding genetic testing, through which patients can become aware of possible future health concerns for themselves, or (as with NIPT testing) for their unborn child.
Progress is measured by tracking:
- The total non-public healthcare spending channelled through Medicover: EUR 1,874m
- The number of individuals who received services during the year: 15,8 million in Diagnostic Services and more than 14,4 million in Healthcare Services
- The growth in the number of facilities 2025: 52 and blood-drawing points: 115
- The number of times during the year a Medicover site was accessed for free healthcare information: 232 million times (156 million times)
